You may be thinking that we sneaked into a waxwork museum and hastily took a poorly-lit photograph from a nostalgic 1990s action movie piece, but you’d be wrong.
This is in fact an image from Bad Boys 3 aka Bad Boys For Life. It’s the long-awaited sequel to Michael Bay’s overblown and frankly boring Bad Boys II, and for those not bothering to count the years, that was many years ago.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return to the roles of Miami detectives Mike Lowrey (the cool one) and Marcus Burnett (the highly strung one), but Michael Bay is nowhere to be seen. Instead, this will be helmed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, a pair of film school graduates with only a couple of short films and TV episodes to their names.
Still, given that pretty much everything Michael Bay churns out is offensive, disgusting or unwatchable, we’re fine with letting a pair of amateurs take over.
The plot pits the pair against Armando (played by the guy who played Kerwhizzitor on Cbeebies), who happens to be the head of a drugs cartel. According to the official synopsis:
Armando is a cold-blooded killer with a vicious, tainting nature. He is committed to the work of cartel and is dispatched by his mother to kill Mike.
